The Allianz Arena, on the northern edge of Munich, had an original capacity of 66,000 covered seats which was later increased to 69,900. From being a scuffler in the cold mud of Germany’s tough league, Bayern Munich has emerged as an international powerhouse in recent years, and their true rivals these days are not their Munich counterparts or the Berlin and Hamburg clubs.
