The giants of Italy are famed and feared across Europe, and none are as massive as the team called AC Milan.

Milan have always worn the colours red and black to represent the fiery red passion of the team and the dark fear experienced by their opponents. The striped red and black shirts have earned them the nickname rossoneri. AC Milan tickets to the San Siro Stadium are among the most coveted in world soccer. The San Siro holds 85,700, and is officially known as Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after the legendary player who played for both Milan and Internazionale. The stadium is in the San Siro district of Milan, where football is a religion and the opportunity to buy AC Milan tickets is itself considered a crucial aspect of existence. The stadium is well known for its overwhelming atmosphere created by the proximity of the high-tiered stands looming over the pitch. Milanese fans love to set off red flares and wave gigantic banners, which creates a marvelous carnival atmosphere largely unseen outside South America. And just like the clubs of South America, Milan soccer tickets are to die for.

The club was actually founded as a cricket club in 1899 by British expatriates. This is the reason AC uses the English spelling of its city’s name, rather than Milano. This fact was probably aided by the local northern dialect to be very similar to the way the English pronounce the name Milan.

Italian football is known for its political associations, and AC Milan is no exception. Milan are the third most popular club in Italy, with one-sixth of Italian football fans following the club. Milan is known to be supported by the city’s working-class and trade unionists, many of whom came from the poor South, while their city rivals Inter are supported by the more prosperous Milanese middle-class.

Part of the reason for the demand for Milan tickets being so high is the presence of the Ultras. The Ultras are the fanatical supporters of Italian clubs who consider themselves the front line against all opponents. Fossa dei Leoni is the name of one Ultra group active in Milan. This is one of the oldest such groups in Italy. Ultras have a tight connection to the distribution of AC tickets, often securing their tickets before other sections of the Milan support.

AC Milan have won the European Cup or Champions League 7 times, as well as being defeated finalists 4 times. Their stadium is the largest in Italian football, and they have won the Serie A no less than 17 times. From one football fan to another, I would say “find yourself some AC Milan tickets and witness greatness in this world. When the Rossineri run out onto the pitch, and the flares are exploding and the massive roar booms down, the wonder of football, of Italy, and of life itself is made flesh”.
